Room 24

Hello everyone, we hope you’ve all had a great week! This week in room 24, we have had a very busy and exciting week!

Here is a run down of what we’ve gotten up to:

High School Visit: On Tuesday, we went up to Uddingston Grammar for the first time! We got little taster sessions of classes we might have there like Math, Computing, Science, Home Economics, Art and Social Subjects. Aitkenhead Primary were there at the same time too, so we got to meet some of the people we might be in classes with. We all feel more confident and prepared.

IDL: We completed our last day of the Digi Inventors Challenge and put the finishing touches to our presentations. Our teachers will submit these to the challenge judges once they have all video/audio permissions in from parents and guardians. We hope to hear before the spring break if we have any winners from the school!

Maths: We’ve been using the INDIs in groups this week and writing down the directions of the courses we made for them. We had to use the angles and directions we’ve been learning about to describe the directions. Then we peer assessed the directions from another group, by following their instructions and checking if they made sense and were accurate.

PE: We got into groups of four and each group got given a tennis ball, a hula hoop, a cone and a blindfold. We had to make a mini obstacle course using the equipment, and then guide a blindfolded person in our group through it. We had to give them directions using the angles we’d been working in maths. For example we might have said “take 5 steps forward, then turn 90° left.”

Spelling: We changed up our spelling task this week and did graffiti spelling! The pictures speak for themselves…
