We’ve had another exciting and busy week in Primary 1! In Literacy, our focus has been learning two new sounds: e and d. The children have been working very hard and we have used a range of active learning strategies to help us explore, practise and remember these sounds. We have used a range of visuals, eye spy games and magnetic letters.

In Maths, we have been continuing our work on addition. The class has been practising writing number sentences, using concrete materials and visual supports to help them understand each step. The children have enjoyed using cubes and number lines to build and solve addition equations. Their enthusiasm has been wonderful to see!

As nativity is fast approaching we have been busy practising for our Nativity performance. The children have been learning their lines, songs and stage directions. We are very proud of the effort they are putting in.

Just a note to say if you could please help your child learn their nativity lines at home.  It makes a big difference to their confidence during rehearsals.

Important date

On Monday 17th of November, you are invited into the classroom from 2pm to read with your child and complete fun book week activities.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!
