This week in Room 5 we have been very busy. We learned another new sound ‘ow’ as in snow, bow, throw. We learned about non standard unit of measure and spent a whole morning measuring with cubes and lego. We learned about what food they used to eat when having a banquet in a castle, and also different animal habitats. This week we also had lots of opportunities to learn through play and continued to build our team working skills, problem solving skills and adapting our designs. Next week we will be consolidating the ‘ow’ ‘ea’ and ‘ay’ sound and revisiting all our taught topics so far in numeracy.

Pupil Voice:

AD: CJ and I made a lego robot dog in play and it was really tricky.

BK: I enjoyed learning about Castles and even visited one during September Weekend.

LSS: I liked drawing minecraft characters with LB.

ORM: I liked learning the ‘ow’ sound and writing the words on the windows to practice.

LB: I liked learning about the different animal habitats ‘oceans, arctic, desert, rainforest’

ST: I liked using the chalk to write our spelling words outside.

Reminder:

Homework goes out on a Monday. Please return folders on Friday (even if you haven’t completed) so that new homework can be given out. All bug club passwords have been reset and should now be working, sorry for the technical glitch.

Please ensure you have a jacket as the weather is to continue to rain all week and we would like to take every opportunity we can to learn outdoors.

P.E days are Monday (outdoor) Thursday (indoor)

Parents Evening is Thursday 9th October.

Thanks so much,

Miss Livingstone and Room 5
