French – For French we were working on remembering our numbers up to twenty and our tens up to one hundred. French numbers are so different to ours, like for the number 70 they say soixante-dix which means 60-10. For 80 its quatre-vingt which means 4-20! You have to do math in order to count French numbers! We were also playing a game to learn French commands such as ‘stand up’ and ‘sit down.’

Literacy – We’ve been doing- more reciprocal reading in groups of five. Each group had a reader, a clarifier and a questioner. Once we had read two chapters, we had to complete a task to do with what we read. We got to use some of our Emotion Works learning this week in our tasks. We also started a block of poetry writing on National Poetry Day!

Numeracy – Did you know one of Miss Napier’s very distant relatives is John Napier, the Scottish Mathematician?? Well we found that out this week and have been solving math problems linked with patterns and shapes to solve the mystery of John Napier’s stolen museum artefacts. We’ve also been completing word problems in groups but making them as active and fun as we can to help solve them.
