Room 24 – St Mungo Museum Trip

March 13, 2026 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

On Thursday this week we went to St Mungo Museum for our class trip. We started the day off with a scavenger hunt around the museum where we had to find statues and objects from small picture clues we were given. After that, we went to see inside Glasgow Cathedral and search for the stained glass windows that had animals on them. We got to go down into the crypt and see where St Mungo is buried too!

In the afternoon, we took part in a WW2 workshop back at St Mungo’s museum. We learned about real Jewish people who either lived or died in concentration camps. It was inspiring to learn about these people, some of which moved to Scotland once they were freed or the war was over. Across 4 interactive stations, we were able to create banners displaying values that were important to us, we had Jewish objects that we could draw, we created a paper chain of kindness by writing things that make us feel happy, and we created a sun-charm by drawing things that inspire us. Overall it was a very immersive experience that we all enjoyed.

As well as the enlightening school trip, the bus rides were very musical and had everyone singing along!

It was a very fun day, and we would all love to have the adventure again.
