This week in Primary 1, we have been busy learning and having lots of fun!
In Literacy, we have been continuing to consolidate the sounds we have already learned. The children have been working hard to recognise, say and use these sounds in their reading and writing.
In Maths, we have been focusing on ordering and sequencing numbers up to 20. The class enjoyed a variety of activities to help them understand number order, including games and practical tasks. They are becoming much more confident in recognising numbers and putting them in the correct order.
On Monday, we had a very exciting visit from the fire department as part of our “People Who Help Us” topic. The children learned how to call 999 using a smartphone and talked about when it is important to use this emergency number. They also had the chance to spray a real fire hose and go inside a fire engine, which was a highlight! We were shown different tools that firefighters use and learned how they help keep people safe. It was a fantastic experience and the children had so much fun while learning.
Well done to all the children for another great week of learning!
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
