Room 26 enjoyed a day out of school at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. We worked our way around 6 Active Stations learning about different aspects of World War 2: Winston Churchill, ACE pilot, Home Front, WAAF, Spitfire and the Striped Pyjamas. We used our own map to rotate round the stations on the first floor of the museum. We also used a stopwatch to time 8 minutes for each station. We had a booklet to fill in what we learned at each station too. This was a super experience. At 1pm we listened to the Organ Recital and were very lucky as he played one of Miss Kennedy’s favourite pieces of music called Nimrod by Elgar. Afterwards there was a pop up workshop run by the People’s Palace. We participated in Arts and Crafts and touched some birds and insects. We learned so much and loved being on a day trip out of school. The bus was luxurious! We couldn’t believe how nice it was.
