This week in Primary 1 we have been very busy with lots of exciting learning! In Maths, we began learning about o’clock times, focusing on reading times to the hour on analogue clocks and understanding that when the minute hand points to 12, we say “o’clock.” We practised matching times to daily routines and discussing what we might be doing at different o’clock times throughout the day. We also consolidated our knowledge of subtraction within 5, using concrete materials and number lines to help strengthen our understanding. In Literacy, we learned the new sounds y and z, using active learning to enhance our understanding. The children enjoyed identifying words, saying the sounds clearly and spotting the letters in their reading and writing. Today, we had a fantastic Crazy Hair Day! The classroom was full of colour, creativity and lots of excited smiles as everyone proudly showed off their amazing hairstyles!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend
