MATHS: For Maths this week we have been drawing angles and writing the names for them. We have also been working on reflex angles using circular protractors. Then we were giving each other directions around our class by using compass points and angles. We had to try to get our partner from one point in the class to another.

RME: For our RME we were learning about Humanism – a non-religious group that does not believe in a god. ‘Humanists believe that people have one life to live, and that there is no afterlife. They focus on being happy and living a good life, by making the most of their lives and helping others. In class we write down on post-its what it means to us to have a good life. Then Miss Napier shared them with the class. Lots of ideas were similar like having friends and family, a good job, food/water, hobbies etc. After discussing the post-its, we all drew these things on individual posters and these will be added to our RME display.

LITERACY/DRAMA: We were reading our class novel called Tribes, which is about 12 year olds being part of ‘gangs,’ and doing different tasks on it. We were making predictions about an initiation test that a character might have to complete, and then acting them out in groups for others to guess. We’ve been finding evidence and quotes to answer questions, and also discussing the advantages and disadvantages of joining a gang. We definitely all had more disadvantages written down!
