We’ve had a great first week back after the Christmas holidays and it’s been lovely to see the children return with big smiles and lots of enthusiasm. They’ve settled back into school really well and have quickly got back into their daily routines.
In Literacy, we have been consolidating the sounds we learnt before Christmas. Using active activities, the children have been revisiting these sounds in a fun and engaging way, therefore helping to build their confidence.
Our work in Maths has continued to focus on our measurement topic. This week, the children explored height, weight and capacity, using practical, hands-on activities to compare and measure different objects using cubes. They have enjoyed investigating and discussing their findings, developing both their mathematical understanding and vocabulary.
It’s been a great start to the term and we’re excited to see how the children continue to grow and learn.
I hope you have a lovely and relaxing weekend!
