Round-Up in Room 24

We’ve been continuing our human body learning and have been studying what’s in our blood. We had to name all of the different things that make up blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. We learned how our blood carries oxygen around our bodies.

Mrs Ryan, an English teacher from Uddingston Grammar, came to the school and did a lesson with us. We created acrostic poems with the letters MOVING ON.

In maths we have been revising decimals and trying to order them, add them, subtract them and even multiply and divide them. It’s been tricky but we’re getting there!

We have been waiting excitedly to hear who the new House Captains will be and on Friday’s assembly we finally found out! Lots of us in the class worked really hard to prepare speeches and FIVE of us got the role! Well done to Evie, Max C, Carrie, Jude and Lily! We know they’ll be great House Captains.

We also got to find out who the Reading Ambassadors will be for the year… Well done to Brody who is a returning reading ambassador and a big well done to Aaron who was picked as a new ambassador!

In writing we’ve started a block on persuasive writing. We had to work on how effective our persuasive techniques could be by trying to convince Miss Napier to give us a ‘sweet.’ Some of us got stickers for succeeding!
