Junior Road Safety Officer Day
September 16, 2025 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

We’re the new Junior Road Safety Officers and today we went to Chatelherault Country Park to take part in the JRSO Open Day.
As soon as we got there, we were given our JRSO notebooks, pens and the most important thing… Our new badges so everyone knows who we are!
We got to take part in loads of fun and interesting activities and meet important people who’ll be able to help us with our JRSO job.
- We caught up with Laura from the WOW challenge we take part in and got given some extra special badges to keep! 🤩
- We tried out the reaction timers to see how long it would take for a car to stop at 20mph, 30mph and 50mph in different weather conditions 🚗
- We got to talk to community police officers and ask them questions. We also got to sit on their quad bikes! 👮♀️
- We picked up lots of posters and leaflets we can display around the school and got some ideas for updating our notice board💡
- We got a picture with Ziggy, the road safety mascot for nursery and P1 pupils 📸
- We took lots of pictures at the selfie station too and even Miss Napier got involved! 📸
We had a great day and can’t wait to get started on planning everything for this year! Keep an eye out for upcoming details of events.
