What an exciting and busy week we had in Room 4!
We began the week by reading the story of Spinderella. The children loved retelling the tale in their own words, showing great understanding as they carefully sequenced the events. It was interesting to hear their predictions about what might happen next – some of their ideas were wonderfully imaginative!
We also explored the nursery rhyme Incy Wincy Spider. Using cut-out characters and props, the children enthusiastically retold the rhyme, bringing it to life with their own voices and movements. While doing this, we played a fun game where Miss Laird was silly and mixed up words that didn’t belong in the rhyme – we had to listen carefully and help her fix her mistakes!
This week the children enjoyed:
KA – I liked learning new things.
ZA – I liked drawing my spider.
ED – I liked playing with the cars.
LF – I liked learning the numbers zero and one.
KH – I liked listening to the story of Noah’s Arc.
HM – I liked playing with the playdough.
DM – I liked playing.
FM – I liked making a rainbow with buttons and pom poms.
SM – I liked learning the names of the shapes.
BR – I liked learning to say hello—bonjour, in French.
Thank you for reading our blog.
