Our Week in Room 24

September 19, 2025 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

Science – We started learning about the Human Body this week with our new friend ‘Cal’ the skeleton. Cal is short for calcium… Get it?! We labeled all his bones using the correct words like scapula and cranium and we all found out what cartilage is. We’re calling our science topic called Blood, Bones and Bodies and we are very excited to learn more.

RME – We learned about the Golden Rule found in each of the six main world religions: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism and Hinduism. They all have their own version of the Golden Rule such as Islam’s ‘Wish for others what you would wish for yourself.’ This basically means be kind to each other and treat others how you would wish to be treated.

Math – This week in math, Miss Napier put up the question 4+(12÷3)²x2 on the board and we all thought ‘how on earth do we do that!?’ Then we learned about BODMAS, which is the order of operations rule. BODMAS stands for: Brackets, Orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction. Once we knew this, it was much easier to complete the questions we had to do!

These past couple of  days we have also been creating our road safety posters for South Lanarkshire’s Road Safety Calendar competition. The theme for P7 this year is safe and active journeys. We’ve come up with some great posters with catchy slogans. Fingers crossed we have a winner!

Many of us in the class prepared House Captain speeches which were filmed by Mrs Webber this week. These videos will be shown in every class and pupils will get the chance to vote for their favourite house captain candidates. We wish everyone good luck!
