Hello everyone!
Another full week of primary 2 has come to an end, and we have been learning lots of new and exciting things.
This week we looked at the sounds ‘ph, ee, oo, ck’ and our common words were ‘are, come, of, new’. We also learned about numbers being ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’ and the signs we would use to show this when comparing it to other numbers. We ensured we were all aware of the numbers to 100 and could count forwards and backwards. Today, we started our first piece of Writing and we are writing about something we consider ‘important news’ in our life, like going on holiday, going out for a nice meal or spending time with family. In P.E this week we started learning ball skills by throwing and catching and rolling. We spent some time playing, and during play we were tasked with building something that is similar to a car or a building (I think they done really well, they are very imaginative!). Miss O’Brien taught us the colours in French this week, and we also know how to answer the register in French.
Next week we will move on to addition in maths, and a few more revision days of previous sounds looking at ‘ai, oy, oa and qu’. We will also be starting our new topic ‘Knights and Castles’.
