Last Chance for  the Bootcamp week 1 Blogging Bootcamp Glow Meet 2mp Thursday 19 February.

 

The Main tasks for Week 1:

  1. Create a Blog, make it Public
  2. Make a First Post
  3. Categorise that post bootcamp.
  4. email me a link to the post: gw09johnstonjohn4@glowmail.org.uk

This week we will have a GlowMeets on Monday 2pm, repeated on Tuesday 2pm and Thursday 2pm as some schools are on Holiday.

Blogging Bootcamp Glow Meet

The meeting room will be open for 10-15 minutes prior to  the meet. It should last 15-30 minutes.

I will also have the room open at 12-12:15 on Monday if you would like to make a test. Email me if another time would suit for a quick test and I’ll open the room them too.

Don’t worry if you can’t make any of the meets, the information here will be enough to get you going.

Have a class discussion about what a blog is, what you think you are going to use your blog for. Blog about this, remember to tag it bootcamp.

  1. I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle. I created a blog post, which I added to the blog section on my page on Glow. I do not know how to make this public now. I suspect I am putting it in the wrong place too.

    To make a blog public you need to:
    Go to the Dashboard
    Go to Settings-Reading
    Click the public Radio Button and then save changes.

  3. Is there a quick way to save all your personal details i.e name, email, website so it is easier to make comments on blogs?

    I am deterred from putting comments onto all the blogs as I do not want to be typing out the rather long glow email address and website address time 130 times (or however many people have signed up to do the bootcamp)

  4. Hi Susan,
    Some of my browsers seem to remember and auto fill my details for me. Safari on my mac at home that for me. At work on a PC I can’t set auto-fill I believe because of our administration.

    If you are logged into glow and commenting on a blog in the same LA you will find that the blog will use your glow account. This is not ideal as it will not provide a link back to your site. You can logout so that you get the link if you like.

  5. Excellent thanks. I have followed the instructions above and it has worked. Went a bit comment daft and it took hardly any time.
