We are learning all about changes in the playroom. The children enjoyed changing structures to make the safe, the butterfly life cycle, role play at the weather station and the 4 seasons.

Multi-sport activities
Primary 2 were very enthusiastically when their multi-sport coaches from City of Glasgow College had prepared a variety of circuits to enable them to try different activities.
They were able to hula hoop, play rugby, football, basketball and hurdles.

Ramadan
Primary 2 were learning about Ramadan. They were fortunate enough to have some of the children willing to share their own and their families experiences of Ramadan and talked enthusiastically about the preparations and celebrations in their faith.

JRSO update
On Tuesday 12th of March Ollie and Rosie traveled to the City Chambers to make a film about road safety around Wallacewell Primary. They had a great experience learning about the task of making a film and all the jobs associated with creating images for a film. The next task is to share their video with the school.

All in a good week

This week, P5 went outside to learn about reading grid maps and this time we added using a compass. Everyone enjoyed the learning even in the rain! ☔️ Next week we have planned to include the pitch with the maps, weather permitting!
The road safety team came to Wallacewell and we all enjoyed a quiz! These lucky 4 are the winning team.
On Tuesday 2 pupils from P5a went to the CIty Chambers to make a movie about road safety around the school. The whole class had supported and contributed to their script and film.

Well done Rosie and Ollie
Soccer 4s
Over the past few weeks, Primary 4a have been enjoying working on our football skills with Ben, a Soccer 4s coach. We have been practising dribbling and passing and have even managed to play some games. Primary 4a have been so good at working as part of a team during these sessions. We are already excited to see what we will be doing next Wednesday!

Outdoor Learning
Last week in p4a, we took our learning outdoors! We have been learning all about Ancient Egypt, so did a Pharos hunt in the playground. There were 8 Pharos hid around the playground. Working in pairs we had to find each of the Pharos and write down facts about them. We had lots of fun!

Busy week in P5b
In P5 we have had a busy week. In maths we have been working on data handling looking at different ways to read and display data. We also had our first week with the football coaches who will be with us for a few weeks.

In the creative enquiry some groups performed and filmed their space scripts using the green screen allowing them to add backdrops to make it more realistic.

As well as filming as part of our space topic they are working in groups to make a space poster on one of the planets in our solar system.

We finished the week with orienteering which was lots of fun. They all did fantastic so next week we will hopefully challenge further by making the course bigger and more checkpoints.

JRSO film crew
The P5 JRSO have been very busy this term making a road safety film. Ollie and Rosie-Joy have written the script, chosen the “actors” and organised all the photographs they need to make this short film. Wish them luck as they travel to the City Chambers on Tuesday 12th of March to finalise their work.

Our film directors busy making a film about road safety.

What a week!
This has certainly been a very interesting week. On Tuesday primary 5 received their first coaching experience from the Rangers Team. Everyone enjoyed and learned from the experience. World Book Day on Thursday was a fantastic opportunity to share our thoughts and experiences around reading books 📚.
Although it was a cold day P5 took part in an orienteering lesson outside to learn around coordinates. I think it was a great success and weather permitting we will continue with this next Friday
.
