This week we finished off our decimals block in Maths, and news reports in Writing, all about a Tsumami. We have been finding out lots about the devastating Tsunami that hit Indonesia in 2004 and were able to report on this and the effects of it. We had our treat afternoon on Tuesday and have also been out planting seeds as we want to encourage nature in our grounds. Of course we also had some outdoor play in the sunshine too!
Happy Holidays!

Attendance Update – March 2025
P5’s treat afternoon!
Before Christmas the primary 5 classes ran their enterprise. With the money they made they decided they wanted a ‘pizza party’ treat afternoon. We waited for the nicer weather and What a beautiful day we had for it today! Outdoor play and Dominoes pizza ….and lots of fun had by all!
We still have money leftover and have decided to buy some more outdoor play equipment after the holidays.

Another busy week in p5a, we have finished off our Co-ordinates block in maths and moved onto to decimal numbers, which has been tricky but the children have shown great perseverance and determination ! In literacy we have been writing non chronological reports about some of the natural disasters that we have been learning about. We have also been trying to make mini versions of them in science, It was messy but good fun! In our new block of creative enquiry we have also been exploring ‘communication’ .

Parents Evening Update – March 2025
Thank you to all of our families who attended our Parents Evening over the last couple of weeks. It was lovely to see so many of you.
We value the experience to meet with families to discuss pupil progress and next steps in learning. If for any reason you were unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please contact the school to arrange a mutually suitable time to meet with your child’s Class Teacher.
Thank you also to everyone who engaged in our Family Learning Consultation. 95% of families who participate felt that they would benefit from a Family Learning website, that demonstrates ways in which parents/carers can engage in learning with their children. As a result of this feedback we have started to create our bespoke website that we plan to launch in Term 4 of this session.
Nurture at Wallacewell Primary – What does it mean?
Today at assembly we have been learning about one of our values – NURTURE.
We know that to grow and develop we all need NURTURE.
We know that to be NURTURED means you have a caring and stimulating place to live and grow.
We know that part of being NURTURED is being recognised that you are unique.
We all want and need to be NURTURED. It helps us to grow and develop.

We have been making the most of the nicer weather this week and been taking our learning outside, we have been giving and following directions using compass points and angle turns in maths. It was good fun, and we showed great teamwork and communication skills. In writing we finished our own adventure books after being inspired by the author visit last week. We had our finial week investigating forces in creative enquiry. We were exploring ‘responsible actions’ during our PATHS lessons, where the children had lots of great contributions to share.
