Welcome to P7b!

Summary of learning – Term 4

In Language we will be using our knowledge of different types of texts, to find, select and sort information from a variety of sources and use this for different purposes.

We will consider the impact that the layout and presentation of a text can be used to engage the reader. We will engage with others and can respond in ways, showing that others’ contributions are valued and used to build on thinking.

In Mathematics we will investigate +/- patterns and relationships in number sequences.

We will create our own +/- number patterns following a rule. We will investigate more complex number sequences that can be linked to table facts e.g. 36, 32, 28, 24, 20 and look at well-known number patterns such as: Fibonacci sequences. We will examine how to find the missing numbers in statements such as 14 + * = 17, 4 * 5 = 20 and recognise that a letter or symbol can go in place of a number.

In our topic work we will investigate global locations of WW 1 and why certain countries were involved in the war. We will research and discuss key events in WW1. We will discuss the significance of Remembrance Day and compare and contrast WW1 with conflict in the world today.
