Respect, Learning, Kindness, Friendship, Trust
Welcome to P6a with Miss Ross and Mrs Nickson 🙂
Summary of Learning
This term, we will be expanding our skills in multiple areas of the curriculum through our topic, ‘The 1960’s’. We will be developing out note taking skills and using these notes to write our own news reports. We will also be continuing our digital literacy input with Mrs Nickson.
As a class we are doing lots of reading in the classroom and will continue to enjoy a reading café on Fridays. This is where we share and discuss the books we are reading with our friends in P6b. We encourage children to read for enjoyment as much as possible and would welcome your support with this at home.
In Math we are focusing on ‘money’ and using our skills to answer a variety of different money problems. We will also be continuing to build our numeracy skills through the four operations. We practise our times tables regularly in class and would encourage over-learning these at home.
Our topic takes a look at the 1960’s and all the exciting events that happened during that era. Come along to our assembly to see what we have been learning about.
Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please remember to remove jewelry and bring a full change of kit.
We also have coaches from Rangers FC coming in on Monday mornings for 6 weeks. A change of kit is not essential but jewelry should be removed.
Homework is issued on a Monday and is due on Thursday.
Learning Journeys will go home on Thursday to be returned on Friday. We encourage you to write comments on your child’s learning journey to engage with their weekly learning.
Our latest technology homework task has been issued. The launch date for our rockets or space vehicles is Monday, Dec 2nd 2019
