P6A

Welcome to P6a with Miss Ross and Mrs Nixon 🙂

Summary of Learning

This term, we will be developing our Literacy skills through our topic, ‘Shipbuilding on the Clyde’, and our class novel, ‘There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom’.  We will be developing our imaginative writing skills through digital technology and our novel study.

We are doing lots of reading in the classroom and will continue to enjoy a reading café on Fridays. This is where we share and discuss the books we are reading with our friends in P6b. We encourage children to read for enjoyment as much as possible and would welcome your support with this at home.

In Maths we are investigating ‘patterns and sequences’. We will also be continuing to build our numeracy skills through the four operations. We practise our times tables regularly in class and would encourage over-learning these at home.

Our topic takes a look at Govan’s shipbuilding history.
