Pirie Park Primary School

Respect, Learning, Kindness, Friendship, Trust

Welcome to P2b with Mrs Campbell and Mrs Clark

Mrs Clark teaches P2b on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings, and Mrs Campbell teaches on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.

Summary of Learning

Our topic in Term 4 is Elderpark. We will be investigating the history of the park and we hope to go on regular visits to the park to explore!

We continue to read for enjoyment. We are working to engage the pupils in as wide a variety of texts as possible. We are encouraging pupils to bring books and stories from home to share with the class, particularly on Thursdays, when we will be enjoying a biscuit and some juice while we read and talk about our favourite books. We will continue to visit Elderpark Library each month and parents/carers are also welcome on these visits.

In maths, we are learning to add and subtract within 100 and identify tens and units. We will continue to revise telling the time, adding coins together and identifying 3D shape.

We are really enjoying learning Gaelic with a Gaelic specialist who visits us once per week (Tuesday).

We hope you enjoyed our performance of ‘Pizza Love’ in our recent school concert! Thank you for coming along and being a great audience

The children have outdoor learning with our CDO on Thursdays. Please make sure your child comes to school with suitable clothing as pupils will be outside in all weathers.

PE Days

Our PE days this term are Monday and Tuesday. Please remember to bring gym shoes and take out earrings on these days.

Homework Days

In term 4, our homework is nightly reading and revision of common words (sheets are inside the reading poly pocket). New books and words will be issued on a Monday and should be brought to school each day. Please remember to get your reading diary signed each night. There will be no homework on Friday!

On a Thursday, we will send home the completed learning journey. Please discuss with your child, write a comment, sign the learning journey and return every Friday morning.
