Summary of Learning – Term 3
In Reading this term we are focussing on: Identifying the features of fiction and non-fiction texts. Deciding whether statements on a text are true or false. Identifying our own words to complete sentences about a text. Identifying and creating literal, inferential and evaluative questions. In Writing, P5a are focussing on Procedural texts, like recipes and instructions.
For Numeracy P5a are developing our multiplication and division skills. We will explore and order decimal numbers and make links to fractions and percentages. We will examine profit, loss and budgets. In time, we will explore the concept of durations and how speed and distance link with time.
We will continue to explore the Maya civilisation in topic. We will also make links to maths through our enterprise project. In health we will investigate the 8 indicators of the SHANARRI wheel (Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included). We will also participate in Internet Investigators workshops to build digital resilience.
PE Days
P5a will have PE on Tuesdays (outside) and Thursday (inside).
Remember appropriate clothing for these days and remove jewellery.
