P6A

Primary 6A with Miss Cruickshank

Summary of Learning

This term in P6A we are reading The Titanic Detective Agency by Lindsay Littleson. We are also exploring fact and opinion and looking closely at which sources we can trust and why. Our writing genre this term is recount.

In Numeracy this term we are focusing on multiplication, division and time. We will explore different strategies we can use to help us multiply and divide increasingly larger numbers. We will also be exploring 12- and 24-hour time and reading timetables. Weekly Sumdog challenges will be set for homework to support our learning in class.

Our topic this term is Titanic. We will be learning about how and where the ship was built, the journey it took and how it ended up sinking. We will be comparing life in the early 1900s to life now and how travel has changed throughout the years. We also have the very exciting opportunity to visit the Fairfield Museum to learn more about the unsinkable ship!

PE Days

Our P.E Days are Tuesday and Wednesday in the gym hall. We also have the opportunity to participate in active play outdoors with our P2/1 buddies on a Friday.
