Summary of Learning

This term our class topic is Electronics. We will be exploring different ways circuits are made, we will learn to code on a variety of platforms and we will also be exploring different famous people and inventors.

We will be developing our literacy skills through active spelling, reading our class novels and reading for enjoyment. In reading we will be focusing on learning about characters and setting. Primary 5 will be reading ‘Gangsta Granny’ this term and Primary 6 will be reading ‘Breadwinner’. For our writing we are learning about personal writing and we will also be learning about writing biographies.

In maths we will be learning all about fractions, time and place value. P6/5 are also very lucky to have Miss Ward in with us later in the term to help us with our maths.

Within Science we have been looking at circuits. We have been using what we have learned to build a variety of circuits using, snap circuits, crocodile clips and we have even built our own steady hand buzzer game.

In PE P6/5 have been learning about ball skills and will be learning how to play tennis.

P.E. Days

Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday.  Make sure you have your P.E.  kit and all jewellery should is removed.

Homework Days

The pupils will be given a solo talk task on Monday 3rd February. This will be due in Monday 24th February. The pupils will be given an information sheet on the task.

Spanish

During this term we will be developing our Spanish skills. We will be learning about Spanish culture by learning about Hispanic Awareness Month.   We will be learning Spanish vocabulary including adjectives to describe ourselves and our families.
