Book Committee Award 2015
The committee that published the ‘Sgoil a’ Bhac – Memories Through the Ages’ book that charted the history of Sgoil a’ Bhac decided to use some of the proceeds from the sale of the book to establish a prize in their name.
The new prize is awarded for excellence in the study of local history, geography or culture and was judged through the submission of special projects produced by our P7 pupils.
The first winner of the Book Committee Trophy and monetary prize was the Dux of the School, Andrew Macdonald, who’s project on the Gress River was considered to be outstanding. Highly Commended runners-up certificates were awarded to James Maclennan (Whaling), Erin Macleod (History of Back Free Church) and Ellie Macdonald (Baile Ghriais).
The school would like to thank the Book Committee for the contribution of this prize that will continue to be awarded in years to come for excellence in local studies.
Pictured below are members of the Book Committee presenting the prizes. Neil Murray also presented our special guest, Mr Fred Wildridge, with a copy of the book.
