Netball Champions!

Congratulations to our netball teams who competed in the Sports Festival yesterday evening. One of the teams made it through to the final against Stornoway Primary and won 4-2, crowning them champions. As well as congratulating the girls, we’d like to say thanks to the three parents who have given up their time every week to coach them. Thank you Mrs Macritchie, Mrs Mackay and Mrs Maciver.

Sharing the Learning at Pupil-Led Events

Today, we held our annual pupil-led events with our Sgoil Araich, E1-2 and G1-3 classes welcoming parents to visit in the afternoon and our other classes in the evening.

The children thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to share with parents and families the learning they’ve been doing throughout this year and we’d like to thank everyone who was able to join us during both the afternoon and the evening.

We’d also like to thank our pupils and staff for all the hard work they put into preparing for this event.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

GP6/7 and EP5/6 have been studying The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis. They have been reading and critically analysing the text in class and have been coming together for various activities. Throughout the term they have worked together on a project to transform an area of the school into Narnia. Mr Smith, the Art teacher, has worked with both classes to create a spectacular wall display. Both classes have also created 3D objects which has helped in  developing their problem solving, planning, creating and designing skills.

Here are some pictures of the early stages of the work.

Remembrance Day Assembly

This year, our commemoration of Remembrance Day on 11th November took place at a special assembly led by our English P5 and P6 pupils. They have been working on a class topic about WW1 and shared their learning with the other pupils of the school and parents and families who were able to join us for the service. As part of the service, Rev. Macleod led us in marking the traditional two-minute silence.DSCN0815
