Pupils at Sgoil a’ Bhac hosted two performances of Christmas at the Movies on the 18th December 2017. The concert showcased a variety of talent across the school. Please see below a selection of the pictures taken on the night. We hope to show some of the video clips taken on the plasma screen in school also.

REMEMBRANCE DAY ASSEMBLY
Parents and friends are warmly invited to our Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday 10th November 2017 at 1:30pm in Sgoil a’ Bhac School Hall. We look forward to seeing as many of you as are able to attend.
Blythswood’s Shoebox Appeal
Grateful thanks must go to all those whose generosity meant that 102 Shoeboxes from Sgoil a’ Bhac were loaded up into cars this afternoon to be taken to the collection point in Stornoway. There, they will be checked and packed ready for their onward journey to some of the poorest regions within Eastern Europe. This is a phenomenal effort on the part of pupils, parents and staff and our hope is that the Sgoil a’ Bhac shoeboxes will bring much needed comfort and joy to those who need it in the coming weeks.
BLYTHSWOOD SCHOOL ASSEMBLY
We were absolutely delighted to have Rhona Matheson from Blythswood in school on Wednesday 11th October 2017 for a joint Assembly with Sgoil a’ Bhac and Tolsta Primary School. Rhona came to tell us all about the Shoebox Appeal for this year.
Shoebox leaflets were distributed to all pupils earlier in the month and already we are seeing them coming in. Please have your shoeboxes in school by Friday 27th October 2017

Pupil Council Elections
Classes 3-7 took part in a school vote to elect the pupil council members for this year.
Netball Tournament Success!
We all had a great time at the Netball Tournament up at the Sports centre. 3 teams took part and one of the teams were the runners-up. Well done girls, you all played amazingly well!
EP3-5 Personal Projects
Well done to EP3-5 pupils (and parents) who produced some excellent personal projects this term. Pupils were able to choose their own topics which ranged from dinosaurs to the Queen, they carried out research online and in the library and used their notes to write some impressive reports. The children enjoyed sharing their learning with the rest of the class.
Sharing the Learning at Pupil-Led Events
Today, we held our annual pupil-led events with our Sgoil Araich, E1-2 and G1-3 classes welcoming parents to visit in the afternoon and our other classes in the evening.
The children thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to share with parents and families the learning they’ve been doing throughout this year and we’d like to thank everyone who was able to join us during both the afternoon and the evening.
We’d also like to thank our pupils and staff for all the hard work they put into preparing for this event.
Trip to Castle Grounds
EP3/4/5 and GP4/5 had a fantastic outdoor learning trip to the Castle Grounds yesterday. We would like to say a huge thank you to Tim, Marie and Alistair for organising such fun activities!
“It was really fun and not what I imagined it to be!” Talia, EP4
“It was the most terrific school trip I’ve ever been on. When I saw the millipede race it made me feel that I had to work as a team.” Nathan, EP4
“I liked working with Aimee when I was blindfolded and Aimee led me to a tree to hug!” Caitlin, EP4
“I enjoyed when we had to go in the water and put our boats into the stream.” Alexander, EP4
“I think it was really good because nobody was left out in all the games we played.” Ruby, EP5
