My name is Patrick McBride and I am a 4th year student and have just completed the work experience week, I went to Liverpool to my Uncle’s business which is primus educational psychologists. I worked as an admin assistant helping with research, typing, filing and go out on visits to schools with him I thoroughly enjoyed it and if I had the chance I would do it again.
The skills that I acquired over the week were mainly corporal techniques, such as what to do in this situation, how to type up a report and use digital skills to make sure I completed them to the best of the best of my ability. I also had to research offices for him and his business because he is thinking of expanding and needed my help in doing that.
I also had to use time management skills to get reports done on time and had to very respectful and sensitive to the children that my uncle was assessing this took a lot of time and energy but it was worth it.
In the end I really enjoyed my work experience because I got to travel down by train and had to use money skills from everyday life to buy a ticket. I thought that is was very tiring but that’s what the working world is supposed to be like.
