Despite only winning one game in Pool A Lynne Beattie is upbeat about the whole Olympic experience for the GB ladies team.

“We competed at times but it wasn’t enough,” said Lynn.

“The main thing we can take is competing against the best teams in the world, that’s an experience in itself.”

The GB captain added: “The next step is taking sets and wins against these teams.”

Well done Lynne!

Lynne Leads GB To Olympic Victory!

Lynne Beattie led her GB Woman’s team to an historic Olympic victory over African champions Algeria last night at Earls Court

Lynne said “”I feel absolutely amazing. To get a win at the Olympic games, from where this team has come from – we can be very proud of the result. Algeria came out fighting, but we showed a lot of character and resilience to come back and to win a fifth set at the Olympics is fantastic.”

The next game for the GB woman’s team is Wednesday 1st August.

Lynne Plays Well Despite Defeat

Our adopted olympian Lynne Beattie, captain of the GB Woman’s Volleyball team, had an outstanding game in her first Olympic Games match against Russia on Saturday at Earls Court.

Women’s head volleyball coach Audrey Cooper said: “I thought our captain, Lynne Beattie, had a really super game today, especially in the first set. She was attacking every inch of the net and played very controlled.”
