School will be closed on Friday 21st September for the mid term holiday. Reopens on Tuesday 25th September and breakfast club operates as normal.
Please come and join us as part of Newton Mearns Community week for a tour of the fantastic new facilities of Isobel Mair School.

3 of our primary classes have set out on a journey to Blairdrummond Safari Park.
This is part of the annual Variety Club outing which we are invited to and usually everyone has a great time.
Hopefully the rain will stay away and we don’t see any lions on the loose!

The annual Ardentinny Reunion will take place on Thursday 6th September at 7pm.
A chance to catch up with old friends and reminisce about the “Make Your Dreams Come True 8” weekend which took place back in June 2012.
A slideshow and DVD presentation will be premiered on the night.
Parent Council Meeting will take place tomorrow evening, 28th August at 7pm in main school.

We are delighted to be starting our swimming blocks with Mrs Haugh Reid and swimming intructor at Eastwood pool.
Our blocks of swimming will take place every Friday morning and each class will have a turn.
To start us off this term class Tiree and Jura will commence the first block.
We will keep you informed of the classes who are next.
Class Shetland are delighted to be starting a PE block at Willaimwood High School every Monday.
They are looking forward to meeting up with new buddies from WWHS who will join the class with our young people.
Congratulations to two of our senior pupils and 4 buddies from Williamwood and St Ninian’s High School who represented the school at the Education Commitee about the recent “Make Your Dreams Come True 8” weekend. A short dvd was shown of the weekend and a special thank you to all the buddies who helped make the weekend a tremendous experience, we couldn’t do it without you all!

Congratulations to two of our sixth year pupils who have been selected to represent the school as the Head Boy and Girl for session 2012/13.
Along with the school prefects, they were awarded their badges form Mrs Wallace after pledging to carry out their duties as Head Boy and Girl.
We wish them well in carrying out their duties and representing the school.
We hope you all had a fabulous and peaceful Summer Holiday.
Our new term has now started and we welcomed lots of new staff and pupils to our school on wednesday morning.
At our “Getting to know you” assembly this afternoon all classes will celebrate our new term and welcome all new staff and pupils to the school.
Our Senior Prom will take place this evening at Isobel Mair School from 7.30 – 9.30pm.
Everyone looking forward to getting all glammed up and ready to walk on the red carpet.
The primary disco will take place this evening from 5.30 – 6.60pm.

All welcome to join us for our Leavers’ Assembly 2012 tomorrow at 10.30am in Newton Mearns Baptist Church.
We will bid farewell to four of our students who are moving onto college and adult placements and also to Sophie who is moving to the USA with her family.
We wish them all well in their future placements.
Thank you to all the parents and friends who came along to support our showcase of the Mid Summer Mela.
The staff and pupils have been working very hard for the last few weeks preparing for this big event and lots of new skills have been gained.
I’m sure you will all agree it was a wonderful experience to see all the pupils performing, from Macbeth to Bollywood Reels on Wheels and an African journey.
A special thanks to the girls from the Woodfarm Bollywood Dance Crew who supported our young people and helped to choreograph one of the dances.
Yesterday we were very fortunate to have a visit from Martin Myers who was one of the Olympic torch bearers. He came along to talk to us about his experience and show off the real Olympic Torch.
Everyone was excited to meet Martin and hear his story, of how he was selected to run with the torch. Afterwards we all got the chance to hold the torch and have our photograph taken.
