East Renfrewshire Council is committed to creating inclusive schools and early years settings where every child and young person feels valued, supported, and able to achieve their best. Inclusion means removing barriers so all children and young people can take part in learning and school life. It benefits everyone, not only those with additional needs, and is the shared responsibility of all staff.
All children and young people need support to learn and grow. Our approach is guided by Scotland’s national GIRFEC framework, which focuses on children’s strengths, rights, and wellbeing. This, along with the UNCRC, underpins how we work together with families to help children and young people feel safe, nurtured, respected, and included.
The Everyone Belonging Inclusion Framework explains how we put these values into practice to ensure positive outcomes for every child and young person in East Renfrewshire.
