Home Learning Week 3

Hello again Transition class. Another week already! Today is Burns’ Day and I’ve put a wee challenge into this week’s tasks to discover some Burns’ poetry. I know that some of you have read Burns’ poetry before. You can find them again if you like and try and read them aloud.

Here is this week’s Home Learning. Below that is all the verses of the poem Nessie. Have fun imagining trying to spot Nessie. How would you do it? Would you use a disguise? Would you try and hide somewhere? Would you be brave enough to swim in the loch?

If you want you could keep a wee diary of what you have been getting up to during lockdown. I’m excited to see what you’ve all been doing.

Stay healthy and be kind to each other.

It’s Christmas!

It was a very exciting day on Wednesday this week. After Holly McJingle the day before, Santa visited in his big red sleigh! The boys then had their in-class Christmas party! There was so much dancing that I’m sure the boys slept well that night!

Responsible Citizens – A Visit from Holly McJingle

The Transition boys had a wonderful surprise this week when they got a visit from Holly McJingle. Holly McJingle is a helper elf and was on a mission from Santa Claus. The Transition class had written their letters to Santa and one of our boys had posted it for us.  Santa received them and had written back to our boys along with a wee gift. The boys were Responsible Citizens showing excellent behaviour and manners when Holly McJingle visited to deliver the letters and gift from Santa. The boys must remember to ring their bells at 6pm on Christmas Eve!

Successful Learners – Literacy Scottish Poetry

The Transition boys were Successful Learners listening to Scottish poetry signing some of the Scottish words and putting the poem in order. Some of the boys read the poem to the rest of the class. Some boys translated the Scottish words so that everyone could understand. Whilst looking at Scottish words, we took the time to read the 12 Scottish Days of Christmas and identify different Scottish items and animals.
