The Snowdrops made lots of noise this week while continuing to explore the Glasgow Gruffalo story. All pupils showed interest in the different sounds made by a variety of percussion instruments There was lots of shaking and beating! The Snowdrops then listened to the different sounds made by the animals in the story and each pupil took a turn to match an instrument to the sound made by an animal (including the Gruffalo). Everyone participated in playing their animal instrument as we listened to the Gruffalo song. Well done Snowdrops!

The Daisies class enjoyed looking at clips of Edinburgh Castle on Google Maps. We also watched a YouTube clip of a Minecraft themed animation of Edinburgh Castle getting built.
We used a rectangle foam stamper to print brick effects on our castle template and added windows, towers and a castle door.
We looked closely at the Scottish flag and collages our own to go on top of our castle.
As part of our country comparison topic (Scotland and France) the children loved looking at famous landmarks.
As a class, we had the opportunity to explore different ways to measure and compare images. We had lots of discussions around how to use a ruler and how to record the results. The Comets were all successful learners.
This week we went on a treasure hunt looking for theme pictures. Our theme is Katie Morag and we were looking for pictures of the characters and places from the stories. We went to the garden to see if we could find any. We were confident individuals exploring the garden to find all the pictures that were hidden. Some of the pictures were big and some were small making them tricky to find. We had to look high and low to find all the pictures around the garden.
