Jubilee Fun in the Daisies Class!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Daisies have enjoyed learning about the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee. We enjoyed watching some animated cartoons about the Queen and particularly enjoyed a cartoon about her corgi saving her wind blown hat!

We made royal jubilee play dough using flour, vegetable oil, water, yellow food colouring, glitter and gold paint. We used this to complete crown play dough mats.

We made paper plate crowns and enjoyed trying them on.

We also followed order forms to complete the Queen’s crown showing how many sequins she had asked for.

Finally, Harry and Logan practised following the patterns on Jubilee worksheets. They were both very focused during these tasks.

Fun Friday Teddy Bear Picnic

Effective Contributors     Confident Individuals

For Fun Friday this month, the Snowdrops celebrated the end of our Toy Theme with a Teddy Bear Picnic.  Everyone made confident colour choices to decorate our own teddy bear ears and danced together to some teddy bear songs before participating in a teddy bear hunt for cuddly teddy bears and teddy bear biscuits.  We then headed to the  PE hall for some fun games  before enjoying some picnic snacks with our teddy bears! Lots of fun for the Snowdrops!

This week has been another busy week in the Bluebells. We have been looking at the letter “b” we made butterflies yesterday afternoon. They were confident individuals and used crayons and pencils to made marks and decorate the butterfly wings. Staff made different shapes on one side and some pupils were able to copy the shapes on the other side.

FAOL – SCIENCE

Science week. We have been participating in lots of experiments in the classroom. One experiment the pupils enjoyed was the rain cloud in a jar.  All pupils can fill a jar with water then we carefully added the shaving foam to the top to look like clouds. Some pupils  used a dropper to add blue food colouring to represent the rain. We all watched at the rain (food colouring) went through the cloud and then dropped through the water in the jar like the rain falling from the clouds in the sky.
