* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS *
The Moonbeams class have completed lots of hard work focusing on time recently. We have been matching o’clock times, making o’clock times on large analogue clocks and also completed o’clock bingo games which we have really enjoyed.
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *
The Moonbeams class loved looking closely at a range of popular drinks. We looked at the sugar content of each drink and measured the amount of sugar into ziplock bags. We then ordered the drinks from the least sugar content to the most sugar content.
We were very surprised with some of the results that a small carton of orange juice has more sugar than a bottle of lucozade and that a bottle of Yazoo flavoured milk has more sugar than a can of coca cola!
The Stars are hard at work during Rebound and PE they are stars
Tonie crawling over the cylinder
The Beech class really enjoyed being responsible citizens this week as we made themed cupcakes during home economics. We thought hard about where to find all the different bits of equipment or ingredients we needed and worked as a team to follow the recipe. We also thought hard about our own health and safety as we identified any potential hazards around the kitchen.
The Sunflowers have been busy creating art by using recycled materials. The children brought in some old cardboard boxes from home and decided to create a Balamory Street.
Lots of good listening skills today. Well done boys. Successful learners and effective contributors!
The Sunflowers class enjoyed spending some time in the art room last week. It’s a very busy room with lots to see and do!
Check out these superb spooky sponge paintings. Excellent work from these super successful learners.
The 2018/19 John Muir Group enjoyed their first visit to Dean Castle & Country Park. Neal Lochrie, Countryside Development Officer, guided us through the park (amongst the Illuminight displays!) and we selected an area suitable for our conservation project.
The children even managed to do a spot of pond dipping and discovered snails, damselflies, dragonflies and beetles hiding at the bottom of the water. Lots of teamwork from these effective contributors. Well done !
