The New Cumnock Community Coronation Group have asked us to appoint a ‘King and Queen’ to be part of the upcoming community events to celebrate King Charles’ Coronation.
Names of children who wish to be entered will be added to a hat and chosen randomly at Monday’s Get Together next week.
Children must be willing to dress up, happy to be part of a parade through the town and must be available on the evening of Friday 5th May.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a huge community event and important part of history!
Please speak with your child about what is expected of them if chosen and if they wish their name to be entered, please complete the contact form below to submit their details by MONDAY 24TH APRIL please.
With Earth Day this Saturday 22nd April, our Clean Green Schools Group would like to mark the occasion on Friday 21st April.
They would like everyone to wear blue and green that day. There is no charge for this.
We will also be hosting a community litterpick that day at various spots throughout New Cumnock, so please ensure your child has appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear for this. A huge thank you to our Parent Helpers who have volunteered to support us with this event.
Last week we hosted our first School Burns Supper with a Candlelight Tea theme! It was a hugely successful and enjoyable evening. We are extremely grateful to the support shown by our families and partner agencies such as the New Cumnock Burns Club and the Ayrshire Burns Association for attending. We were thoroughly entertained by a variety of songs, instruments and verse speaking. What an array of talent we have in New Cumnock! We feel this will be the first of many Burns events hosted in our school! 🏴🤩
A huge thank you to Emma J for capturing these images for us on the night!
This weekend has been fun filled with our pupils entertaining the local community at two Burns events.
Firstly, on Friday evening, Arran, Bruce and Quyn performed poetry recitations for the locals at the Afton Lily Burns Supper. They kick started the evening with super performances which were thoroughly enjoyed by their audience.
Following that, on Saturday afternoon, members of our school choir and 1st place poetry winners from each class were invited to perform at the Town Hall for the New Cumnock Burns Club centenary community concert. The children were very well received by the packed hall and were showered with wonderful compliments on their performances!
It was a wonderful afternoon and not only did the children display wonderful performance skills but their behaviour and enthusiasm made each of them a credit to the school!
Our school choir have been spreading Christmas cheer all over New Cumnock this festive period!
We have enjoyed performing for many local groups this month. Thank you so much to everyone who kindly donated to our choir bucket, we have raised an incredible amount of £119.81!
Not only have our children sang beautifully but they have delighted everyone with their wonderful manners and behaviour. We are so proud of them all!

We are so excited that there is only 1 more sleep until our much-loved Christmas Fair is BACK!!!
Come and join us tomorrow Saturday 26th November from 10am until 12pm at New Cumnock Primary School and enjoy our stalls with a hot snack and entertainment.
A few things to note this year:
The entrance to our Fair this year will be at the back of the main car park, through the main gates into the playground. Our Elves will be there to greet you!
In the playground, you will be able to visit Dr Bike who will be there carrying out bike safety checks and have bike models there for you to try before you buy. We are sure this is a popular item on many Christmas lists this year!
Our School Choir will also be singing to welcome you all into the Fair. Any donations to their fundraising bucket would be greatly appreciated.
Please ensure you bring money to the fair as all stalls will be operating with cash. Card payments will not be possible.
There will be teas, coffees, hot rolls and shortbread available to buy too.
You may find it useful to bring a ‘bag for life’ or regular carrier bag with you, as we are confident our guests will find many products they will want to buy!
As you can see from the photos above, this year is set to be our biggest and best Fair yet! We can’t wait to welcome our supporters and small businesses. Come and visit us to see:
