During Health Week next week, from Monday 11th May until Friday 15th May we will also be celebrating Walk to School Week.
Our JRSO’s would love everyone to join in the fun by taking part in the challenges set each day, which you will find below. We encourage everyone to walk, cycle or scoot to school as much as possible.
Thank you for your ongoing support!

Term 4 Afterschool Clubs

Please see information in the Form below about Afterschool Clubs running this term. (Please note that Choir and Football will continue to run this term).

This term, we have the opportunity for P1-4 classes to attend Extra Time Club with Active Schools on a Tuesday 3pm-4.30pm. With 6 sessions running this term, children will take part in sporting activities, games, arts and crafts and will also receive a snack.

We are also extending an invite to the rest of P7 to attend the Hot Topic group with Yipworld which aims to create, support and sustain young people in becoming mentors for their peers through spreading awareness regarding knife crime and violence. Letters have been sent home for this with pupils which must be brought with them if they wish to attend on Monday.

Spaces are limited so register your child quickly. Due to the short time frame to sign up, you will not receive a confirmation email this time. If you sign up your child, please be assured they have been allocated a space, unless you are informed otherwise.

Sports Day 14/5/26

Sports Day will be held next Thursday, 14th May 2026. Parents/carers are invited to join us for 10am at the Glens Park.

Children are encouraged to come wearing their House Team colours on Thursday. Please do not worry if they don’t have any items in their colour, there is no need to buy anything new, sports gear will suffice.

A wee reminder of colours:
Bracken 💛
Heather ❤️
Pine 💚
Thistle 💙

This year, on Sports Day, we are also asking our pupils to bring in a food/drink item in their house colour.

Our Parent Council will use these to make 4 House Hampers which we will be raffled off.

Raffle tickets will be on sale at Sports Day for £1 per strip. Please ensure you bring cash for this and look our for our Parent Helpers at their table.

The raffle will be drawn and winners announced at our Summer Fayre on Saturday 6th June.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Swimming Lessons 2026

We are delighted to share with you that due to a successful funding application from our Parent Council to the New Cumnock Development Trust, every child in our school will receive a 5 week block of swimming at our local swimming pool, commencing on Monday 25th May 2026. Lessons will take place on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday over the 5 week block.

In addition to this, each child will receive a voucher for a free swim to use in the summer holidays. (Please note anyone attending without a voucher would be required to pay for entry and booking prior to entry would also be required.).

Please see the timetable below of when your child’s class will attend.

On your child’s swimming days they must bring in a bag:

  • A towel
  • Swimsuit/shorts
  • Goggles (if they wish to use them)

Parent helpers to support the walking to and from the pool have been arranged.

We ask that if any parents/carers of our Primary 1 pupils wish to come to the pool to support with the changing of their OWN CHILD ONLY prior to or after the lesson is finished, please see the timings below. Parents/carers in attendance are asked to use the coloured changing rooms next to the pool rather than the communal changing rooms. The class teacher will also be on hand to support with the changing of our infant classes within the changing rooms.

Please note that there will not be any phone calls made home for missing swimming bags, as we are sure you can appreciate how busy our office is. Any child who does not have the appropriate kit will sit pool side with their class teacher during the 30 minute lesson.

A huge thank you again to the New Cumnock Development Trust for their generous donation, we know our families will be extremely grateful of their child receiving the opportunity of lessons at no cost to them. ❤
