Noo that’s whit a ca’ a Burns Nicht! 26/2/26
A huge thank you to our talented young people, brilliant local performers and all in our school community who joined us for our 4th annual Burns Family Night!
We love having the opportunity to welcome everyone in to showcase the work and talents of our young people, and with the title of ‘Scots Schuil and Scots Teacher of the Year 2025’ to our name, we really do have a lot of talent to share!
The evening was a huge success, the profits of which will go towards our P7 Residential Trip. A huge thank you to our P7 pupils, Abbie, Arabella, Kal and Baylee who compared the night for us.
Tasty treats for our guests to enjoy. Thank you to P5 for helping to decorate the hall with our lovely Scots word placemats.
Former pupil, Ruaridh McMeekin joined us from EPIC bagpiping to play for our guests and young people as they entered.
Our wonderful school choir sang at the start and end of our evening, even giving the audience a sneaky peek of our Choral Festival entry for this year.
A jammed packed hall! We are extremely grateful to our friends, family, local community and invited guests for coming along to support us.
Local musician, Lewis Cedar entertained us with songs and had the children joining in. A huge thank you to Lewis who supported us with the PA system on the night.
Former pupils Emma Young, Amy Johnstone and Emma Johnstone, entertained us through verse speaking, instrumental and song.
Local musician, Joan McDade entertained us with some songs.
Tracey Harvey entertained us and had the kids in stitches with her poem, ‘Tattie’.
Our Strings Music Teacher Mrs Hill and her 2 children, Maeve and Adam, entertained us with their music and even had us up dancing along.
‘Weel kent face’, Wullie Dick from New Cumnock Burns Club spoke for us.
Our talented Scots poetry competition class winners.
Our interactive Kahoot! quiz is always a huge success! Well done to our winning team, ‘The Young Team’.

Our very own Stewart Y, and his big sister Emma, who is also a former pupil of ours, performed at the New Cumnock Parish Church Burns Supper tonight.
Stewart gave a recitation of Willie Wastle and was given the important duty of addressing the haggis.
Both superstars wowed the room with their wonderful recitations! Well done Stewart and Emma!

P1 and P2 trip to Scotmid
Today our P1 and P2 classes visited Scotmid to decorate the store’s tree with decorations they had made themselves at school.
Our young people even entertained the shoppers and staff by singing some of their Nativity songs during their visit.
A huge thank you to Kal’s Mum, Suzanne, for arranging for us to visit!
