SLC 1 Build a Bear Trip

On Tuesday 20th February SLC 1 went on a trip to Build a Bear in Silverburn . This linked to our learning about our topic on toys and also our writing as we have also been looking at the characters in books and creating our own characters. Last week we designed and described our own bear as our writing activity and then we were very lucky and got to make our bears at Bulid a Bear. We had lots of fun and we will have lots of follow up activities where our bears will come back in school to help us.

We also went for our lunch at Frankie and Benny’s it was very nice and we all looked very grown up.

SLC1 Variety Club Party

SLC 1 had a super time at the Variety Club Party in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on Monday 11th December. We started off our afternoon with a visit to McDonalds in Kilmarnock where we had lunch before the party. We all had a great time and even met Santa!!!

SLC 1 Santa’s Cove Trip

Yesterday we had a fantastic time at Santa’s Cove in Braehead. We enjoyed making reindeer food, making a Christmas decoration, going on a sleigh ride and playing on the snow bouncy slide. We all really enjoyed our day and had a magical time meeting Santa and all his Elves.

This term in SLC 1 we have been working with Ross McFarlane a drama specialist to encourage our imagination and word choice by exploring stories we enjoy. Here we are having lots of fun investigating Room on the Broom.
