Our baby teeth have now been saturated in either Coca-Cola or Diet Coke for two weeks now and it’s safe to say the results are disastrous!!!! Both of the teeth are now almost fully black and rotten – their is also a smell coming from on (and trust us it isn’t a good one!).
After this experiment we can now see just how bad for our teeth fizzy drinks can be and that it doesn’t matter if the drink is a diet one or not.
P6 had an adventurous No Pens Wednesday making use of tiling to create patterns in mathematics – trust us it’s trickier than it looks! We enhanced our literacy skills via drama and worked in partnership to read different scripts and act out new scenarios.
We have now left our teeth in Diet Coke and Coca-Cola for one week now. As you can see the tooth that was in the Coca-Cola is nearly fully black and rotten. The tooth that was in the Diet Coke is badly damaged and a dark grey colour. Our experiment is showing that BOTH type of juice are bad for our teeth – I think we will be sticking to water from now on and keeping juice as a treat every now and again!
For our Health and Wellbeing we have been learning all about the responsibilities that go hand in hand with being a parent / carer. We had to look after our very own Jelly Babies for a week…some of us were more responsible than others but we can be sure that we had good fun!
Barshare was massively excited to have a visit from the very famous author Ciaran Murtagh. Ciaran has written for Mr Bean cartoons as well as super books such as Stunt Boy. Ciaran provided the children with lots of great ideas about how to start their writing tasks – we cannot wait to read all the wonderful stories!
