We were delighted to welcome PC Shannon Walker to speak to our pupils about the importance of Cyber Safety and being responsible online.
The children explored how to keep themselves and others safe when using the internet, including making sensible choices, protecting personal information and knowing what to do if something online makes them feel worried or uncomfortable. They also discussed the importance of being kind and respectful online, just as we would be face-to-face.
The session linked closely with Global Goal 4 – Quality Education and Global Goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, helping our pupils become informed and responsible digital citizens.
It also supported UNCRC Article 17 – the right to access reliable information and Article 19 – the right to be protected from harm.
Throughout the session, pupils developed important Meta-skills, particularly Communicating, Critical Thinking, Sense-making and Integrity, as they considered different online situations and discussed how to make safe and responsible choices.
