It would be most helpful if every item of clothing including footwear could be labelled.
ATTENDANCE/ ABSENCE
We have Electronic Registration at Port Ellen Primary. Registration is completed in the morning and again just after lunch break. If your child is absent you must inform the school by either letter or telephone of the reason for that absence. This should be done during the period of the absence or immediately your child returns to school. The absence can then be reconciled as an official absence. Your support in this good practice is greatly appreciated. Absence should be reported by 09.30am on the first day of absence and then you should supply your child with a written explanation on their return to school.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN
“ Improvement planning builds on self knowledge by involving us in understanding and valuing the best of that which already exists, deciding how good we can really be and identifying the best way forward.”

STANDARDS AND QUALITY REPORT
Standards and Quality reports are the product of processes which build a culture of quality into the day-to-day work of our school. They build on the evidence already gathered within the audit section of the school improvement plan. The process of self-evaluation, planning for improvement and setting targets lies at the heart of quality developments in our schools. The standards and quality report is a statement which defines how the school is doing and outlines what it is going to do next. The production of this report allows our school to report its performance briefly and succinctly to a wide range of audiences. It is now included in the school improvement plan.
