SPORT

Sportsrugby

In our school we play a variety of sports like Football, Netball, Basketball, Shinty, Baseball, Gymnastics, Orienteering, Dancing, Skipping, Athletics, Swimming and Rounders.  We are all very active in all of these sports thanks to our all weather pitch, which allows us to exercise all the time.  We also take part in the Argyll and Bute leadership awards which allow the older children to run sports clubs at lunchtimes for the younger ones.

Senior Championships

In the final term P6&7 compete in a sports championships for Boys and Girls and if you win you get a shield with your name on it to commend your achievement. This sports competition has up to 8-12 events with  High jump, Long jump, obstacle course, Cross country, Throwing, 100 Meter sprint, hurdles and football dribble.   The final races for the championship are held on sports day.

Swimming Galaswim

Before the swimming gala P5-7 go to Bowmore on the bus to the pool each week to practise for the main events. Then on the day the whole school goes on a bus and we line up to get into the pool, then the events begin starting from the p1s upwards. When it gets to the primary 7s the fastest 4 boys & girls race against each other to win loads of points for their house and to win the swimming championships trophies.

The rest of the school take part as well, with points going towards the different houses, Nave, Orsay and Texa. The main events on sports day are the obstacle course, football dribble, the sprint and of course the old favourite the egg and spoon race.  We all try our best to help our house win.
