P12 are reading the book The Wild Robot for their IDL topic this term. They have made a Roz robot in class and have been learning how to code their own robots using algorithms. As we have been reading and listening we have been learning about all the different animals, birds and insects that Roz the Robot has met. We spoke about the places these animals lived on the Island in the story and learnt about the word HABITAT. We identified all the different habitats we have heard about so far and then created our version of a habitat island map from the story. Now we will learn about why these habitats are suitable for each animal, bird and insect. We will also learn a little about how animals have adapted to survive in their habitat. Roz hatches a bird in the story, so we have been hatching our own birds in class and have baby quails!
