Eco Schools
In March 2020, we were delighted to be awarded our Green Flag, recognising Bowmore Primary’s strong commitment to sustainability and environmental action.
Following our Environmental Review, we identified key priorities of Litter, School Grounds and Global Citizenship. Our Eco Change Maker group led this work, driving forward initiatives and encouraging the whole school to take part in caring for our environment.
Our application highlighted a truly whole-school approach, with children actively involved in planning, decision-making and taking action. Eco-Schools Scotland praised Bowmore as an enthusiastic and committed school, noting the wide range of meaningful activities taking place and recognising our work as a strong example of what it means to be an Eco-School.
We continue to build on this success, with our pupils leading new projects to improve our school grounds and promote sustainability within our community.
