Children In Need Fundraising at Castlehill
Stand Up to Cancer at St Joseph’s!
The children, parents and staff of St Joseph’s were delighted to sponsor the Stand Up to Cancer campaign in school on 14th October. The children came to school out of uniform and happily donated £1 towards this very worthy charity. The school had been approached by the local Cancer Research Shop and asked to be party to their local Stand Up to Cancer Campaign.
P6 Harvest Tea
Last term Primary 6 in Cardross were thinking a lot about how they could help the local community and town during Harvest time. Everyday they collected tins and packets of food from the whole school for the Food Bank in Helensburgh, they were overwhelmed by everyone’s kind generosity.Primary 6 were also the hosts for the Senior Citizen Harvest tea and this year we decided to create ‘ Super Soup’ parcels for them to take home and enjoy.
Clachan Primary Macmillan Coffee Afternoon and Non Uniform Day
It was great to welcome so many friends and families to Clachan Primary today for our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon and Non Uniform Day.
The children have been busy baking and creating a tricky quiz for our guests. A fantastic total of £100 was raised.

Strachur Primary raises £348.10 for MacMillan
On Friday 30th September Strachur Primary held a MacMillan coffee morning. Primary 1-4 baked fruit loaf that week and Primary 5-7, fairy cakes. These were sold alongside many donations of cakes and home baking from staff and the wider school community. Primary 5-7 served all morning and were delighted with the final total of £348.10 for this very worthwhile cause.

JLB Harvest the Seeds of Success
Children at John Logie Baird Primary School have been working with Waitrose to develop Enterprise and business skills across the school. Following the pupils planning, measuring building and filling their own raised beds, Waitrose donated seeds to the school. Each class divided them up and planted them. Over the summer term, each class tended to their crop, and to their astonishment, after returning in August, a huge crop was ripe and ready to harvest.

Oban Primary Campus staff held a Big Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. A huge big thank you to Mrs Joanie Garvin, for organising our wonderful event and to everyone who donated and baked the delicious cakes and treats on offer in our staffroom. It provided a fantastic opportunity for all of the staff to get together and catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause! Thank you once again, it was a great success! MacMillan Cancer Support Coffee Afternoon
Primary 6 and 7 of Southend Primary School organised and held a Coffee Afternoon on Friday 30th September to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support where the terrific sum of £436.20 was raised. A huge thank you to Mrs Galbraith who helped organise this, and to all who gave so generously and came to support this very worthwhile cause. It is very much appreciated.
Dalintober P7 MacMillan Success
The Primary 7 pupils of Dalintober Primary always host a Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer and this year was no exception. The pupils made great preparations for the event beforehand, organising stalls and competitions, writing to local companies and planning roles for everyone on the day. They demonstrated fantastic organisation skills and teamwork and raised a grand total of £643! They were extremely grateful to the adult helpers who came in to lend a hand as well. Castlehill Primary School – Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraiser
Primary 2/3 and 3/4 held a Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraiser on Friday 23rd September.
P2/3 set their classroom up as a Baker’s Shop and sold delicious home baking while P3/4’s classroom was the cafe where the whole school were served juice and biscuits.

Dalintober PTA Coffee Evening Fundraiser Success
Members of the Dalintober PS & ELC community enjoyed a very successful and busy Coffee Evening, organised by the school’s PTA. The event included a baking stall, raffles, a nail bar, ‘Hit the Target’ and refreshments. A fantastic sum of £1150 was raised on the evening. Thank you to all involved. Dalintober ELC, P1 and P2 children are going to be busy over the coming year raising funds for 3 children they have sponsored from Gambia. To start us off we had a fundraising event of ‘Beat the Goalie’ and we will be participating in monthly ‘Fun Friday’ events to raise money for Falou, Alasanna and Fatoumata who attend Jarrol Nursery in Gambia. We will continue to work in partnership with CGS4 Gambia and look forward to hearing updates on the children’s progress throughout the year. Harvest Time At St Andrew’s
Inverness 10k
SPS Runners
Ellen and Gemma MacRae of Salen Primary School raised £570 for Cancer Research UK by running the Inverness 10k. Well done girls! You ran an amazing distance and collected a phenomenal amount of money.
They are so keen on running and sports. They also achieved a 1st and 2nd place at the Tiree Fitness Kids Event.
DGS Learning Centre at Kirn Gala
On Wednesday 24th August Dunoon Grammar School’s learning centre had a stall at Kirn Gala.
On our stall we had lots of Different plants, Home baking, Tablet, Fudge, Home grown Organic Vegetables and Herbs
The weather was very kind to us, The sun was shining and it was very busy .We had a very successful evening. We raised £206.49
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us.
Sunshine and smiles
Salen Primary School pupils held a daffodil lunch to raise funds for Marie Curie. They were delighted to present one of our parents, Louise Scarlett, with a cheque for £400. An additional £116 was raised by holding a collection at the end of term service and the pupils requested that this also be donated to Marie Curie.
Dalintober Primary and ELC Race for Life
A fantastic sum of £1276.88 was raised for Cancer Research UK as a result of the Race for Life held last week. Children, staff, parents and grandparents all joined in for a memorable afternoon on Kinloch Green. We were very grateful to the Campbeltown branch of Tesco for donating all the bottles of water for the event. The Primary 7s helped by encouraging and running with younger classes.

Race for Life Report
On Thursday 23rd June 2016 Bowmore Primary School held a sponsored Race for Life event to raise money for Cancer Research UK. As well as the race, there was face painting, nail painting, ice lollies for sale and we dressed up in pink & blue. Each class set off running their laps around the football pitch. P1/2 did at least one lap, P3/4 did three laps and P5-7 did five laps. But everyone did more laps than they were asked!
IT WASN’T “FAIR” ABOUT THE WEATHER BUT THERE WAS A GREAT TURNOUT FOR THE FAYRE!
Rosneath Primary School hall was “buzzing” on Friday 24th June – busy little bees preparing (children and adults) for our Community Event and it was very well supported as always.
