Nursery news

Lots of new resources have arrived in nursery today with a focus on the role play area. We are also looking at literacy in the environment with tins of food from a certain supermarket in the role play corner. I wonder if the children can tell you which supermarket they are from!

There’s a lot of singing going on too with practices for the nativity in full swing.

We are hoping to fill our dress up area with scarves and sarongs. If you have any unwanted ones at home, please bring in. Gracias!!

Outdoor learning P6/7

Today we abandoned our planned lesson and decided to make the most of the frost! Groups were challenged to create a giant drawing that would be seen from above, using only their feet and the frost below.
Afterwards, pupils discussed which problem solving strategies they’d used. This included Try a Simpler Case, Guess Check and Improve and Work Together.

Pupil Council – Children in need assembly e school to raise

This weeks assembly was taken by the Pupil Council. They informed us about the good causes that children in need support and how we can help.

We finished the assembly by singing “Wake me up” by Gareth Malones celebrity choir from Children in Need in 2014.

Throughout the week pupils were selling Pudsey stickers, badges and bands to raise money. They were also selling raffle tickets to win a Pudsey bear or a mug.

The Pupil Council managed with the support of the pupils to raise £52.80.

Well done everyone and congratulations to Angus and Donnie who won the Pudsey bear and mug respectively.

Lendrick Muir Residential Trip for P6/7

Following on from the meeting about the residential trip for P6/7 to Lendrick Muir on Thursday , please find the powerpoint attached that was shared during the meeting. All the pupils who attended the meeting looked excited about the variety of activities that were available. I am not sure that they were as keen about having to make their own beds!!!!

Roll on May!!!

Week 2 of Golf for P6/7

P6/7 braved the cooler temperatures today to enjoy their second golfing session. They worked hard to develop their drive and tee shots and this week were introduced to a wood and driver as well as the iron from last week. They revised GASP and were listening to their shots to perfect the drive. All the pupils were great and the FLASHES pipped the DONUTS in the fun mini game to finish. Well Done FLASHES – Wiktoria, Donnie, Kian, Alice, Kai and Chloe. Keep up the skill development!!!!
