Creative Castles in P3/4
P3/4 have been building castles this week as part of their IDL. They had already researched castles and drawn plans for them to follow. Have a look and see what you think!
Victorian Inventions in P5/6
Building Castles
As part of P2’s interdisciplinary learning we focused on castles and this week we have been looking at the features of a castle.
As part of our technology outcomes we have planned and sketched our castles and selected the materials we would need to construct them.
We are in the early stages of building the castles but here are some pictures to show our progress so far.
P2 Visit to WL College
It was P2’s turn this week to visit West Lothian College for some fun and games.
The children enjoyed the excitement of the bus journey and then had great fun playing the games with the WL College Students. The favourites this week were Duck, Duck Goose, Ladders, Toilet tig and Chaos tig.
P7B Inventors
Primary 7B have been learning about inventors during the Victorian Period. This week we learned about Alexander Graham Bell and the invention of the telephone. We then created our own paper cup telephones. We were so impressed with how well they worked!
P1 visit to WL College
This week P1 visited WL College to take part in some Active Schools activities.
The children really enjoyed practising their ball skills and playing fun games. Some of their favourites were Duck, Duck, Goose, Domes and Dishes and Sleeping Pirates.
ICHS Cluster Football Festival
This morning our P7 Football team took part in their first competitive matches at the Inveralmond Cluster Football Festival.
Team Toronto have been training hard and their coach Miss Telford was delighted with their performance at their first event. The teamwork, determination, skill and stamina were exemplary! The team were proud of their efforts today too, especially when the managed some great results in some difficult games.
The outlook for Team Toronto is positive and they can’t wait until their next game!
P7 Girls Rugby
P7 girls had their first rugby session this morning with Sam from Livingston Rugby Club, learning skills, developing fitness and having lots of fun!
