Primary 7 Camp – Day 4

What another fun filled day for our Primary 7’s. Today we took part in a nature scavenger hunt where there was a big race to find a squirrel! We then had a picnic for our lunch out at the trim trail… Mr Abbott and I really enjoyed having our lunch with you all!

In the afternoon, we spent time out on the field taking part in different sports activities and ended the afternoon with an ice pole to cool down in the lovely sunshine! 😊

Thank you for all of the fun Primary 7!

Primary 7 Camp – Day 2

What another fun filled day our Primary 7’s have had at their school camp. This morning we made a fire and toasted marshmallows. Some of our marshmallows were on the burnt side but super goooey inside… Yummy!
We then got into our PJ’s for a movie afternoon. During our movie afternoon, we had a surprise visit from an ice cream van in our school car park. Check out our photos below!

Our camp leaders at the end of today are… dorm 1 with an amazing 25 points. Well done to Willow, Peyton, Grace, Emily, Marwa and Molly!

Primary 7 Camp – Day 1

Primary 7 have had so much fun at their first day of camp (at school!) We started the day by working together and problem solving to design and create a map of Inveralmond High School. We had some fantastic, creative ideas and we all worked so well together. Check out the winning map below – Well done Lily, Ellie-Nicole, Elly and Myah!

We spent the afternoon outside, in the sunshine, building dens in our dorm groups. There was lots of fantastic team work going on to build the most sturdy den.

At the end of day 1, dorm 6 are in the lead with a fantastic 18 points. Well done to Liam, Amor and Ryan. Great work boys!

The holidays are here and we are hoping that the lovely weather we have been having recently will continue.

Now lockdown is easing and the restrictions are relaxing, what better way to get back out and about than on your bike!

Here is some cycling information with regards to Covid-19 and some challenges and games that the whole family can enjoy during the summer holidays.

Outdoor Maths

Happy New Year!

P4 are back and ready to learn. Today we have made the most of our outdoors and have taken our maths out to the sandpit and been practising our subtraction knowledge. We built sandcastles and had fun taking them away to give our answers, using tyres to take away and we worked with bigger numbers and negative numbers by writing sums in the sand.

We loved this different approach to our maths and incorporating the outdoors.

P6 Tennis Festival

A group of our P6 children took part in ICHS cluster Tennis Festival this week. Walking to Ladywell Tennis Courts proved to be a good warm up before their matches. The pupils then took part in doubles matches against pairs from our cluster primary schools. All children had fun taking part and Toronto were proud to make it to the semi finals! We may have a new Andy Murray or Serena Williams on our hands.

P6 Bikeability

Bikeability is well under way this term and our P5’s and P6’s have been working hard to learn new skills and techniques.

These Primary 6’s below are working on Level 2 bikeability and have been using the streets around our school to help practise their newly learned bike skills. They are mastering safe starts and stops, right, left and U turns and negotiating parked cars.

Outdoor area – Work in Progress

During the last term, three Primary 5/6 pupils recognised an area of their playground that they would like to develop. The girls organised an activity to raise funds in order to buy some supplies to make a start to this area.

Over the last few days of term the girls were delighted to see that the work was well underway to repair the trellis area that they identified. These P5/6 pupils have now been organising the next steps for this area when we return after the holidays. They plan to paint the trellis and have already begun collecting ornaments to decorate with.
