P2/3 Dazzling Designers
This week in P2/3 the children were learning to design their own tartan as part of Burns day.
We discussed the role of a designer and why planning our ideas is important. We also discussed the importance the task and building our creativity skills.
Once they designed their own tartan, P2/3 had the opportunity to create it, using a variety of materials chosen by them.
P7 Take on Tam!
Tuesday was a day to celebrate Robert Burns!
In P7, we read Tam O’Shanter. We discussed the language in the poem and it’s meaning.
We recorded each other reciting the poem, created a QR code and displayed them in the hall for everybody in the school to enjoy!
Learning How To Build A Scarecrow
P1b read a non- fiction book, all about how to make a scarecrow.
Then we made our own Scarecrows.

P5 Celebrate Burns Day
In Primary 5, we enjoyed researching and making our own family tartan for our Burn’s display.
We enjoyed the Burns Assembly and the yummy shortbread.
We enjoyed learning and reciting our Burn’s poem ‘Up in the Morning Early’. We liked practicing our best Scottish accents!
We were happy for the afterschool clubs to start up this week. We loved the Multi-sports club.

Aldi Kits For School
We were excited to receive a delivery this morning from Aldi. As a result of our whole school community coming together to collect the sports stickers from Aldi last term, we were lucky enough to be rewarded with a kit for our school to supplement our PE and sports. P4 and P5 were very excited to share our reward with the rest of the school today, we can’t wait for the opportunity to make use of the equipment.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us collect and enabled us to claim this super piece of kit.
Persuasive Writing
We have been learning about persuasive techniques in our writing in P4. Sometimes when we believe in something, we want others to believe in it also and so we might try to get them to change their minds. The word for trying to convince someone to change their mind about something is persuade.
We played some games and activities to practise our powers of persuasion.
