Another way we celebrated Read a Book Day at Toronto was for Primary 1 and 7 to spend time reading with their buddies. The Primary 7s did a great job at helping their P1 buddies choose a book to read together and take home. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!

Read a Book Day
To celebrate Read a Book Day, Toronto Primary took part in a Teacher Reader Swap. Each teacher took their favourite short story to read to another class. It was a great way to celebrate reading and everyone enjoyed listening to a lovely story from a different teacher!
Playground Fun
We are continuing to develop our playground areas to make them fun places to be during break times. Our PSW staff are leading games and activities with our children and we are continuing to see the positive impact it is making. The pupils are engaged, helping each other, using their imaginations and becoming more independent in leading these activities themselves.
Our playgrounds are such positive places to be!
Book Week Open Morning
P4/5 loved having their families in to share in their Literacy learning. We worked on reciprocal reading skills and were able to teach our adults these skills. It was so lovely to share some ERIC time with them too.
Children in Need Literacy Escape Room
As part of our Children in Need focus last week, P4/5 worked in teams to Escape the classroom through solving Children in Need Literacy clues to identify the code to unlock the room.
Well done to the winning team who managed to get out first!
Coding Club
At Coding club over the last two weeks we have been developing our knowledge and skills through the use of code.org and Scratch. We have coded our own game of Flappy Bird, achieved certificates for our hours of code and animated our names using code.
Coding Club
This afternoon was our very first coding club.
We started our introduction to coding by learning how to code our beebots. We then used the kapla blocks to build a track/maze and coded our beebots to travel through it.
Spooky Experiments in P4/5
Halloween has featured a lot in our learning in P4/5 over the last week! One of our favourite experiences was experimenting with static electricity to make our spooky ghosts fly!
